Looks like OEM LCI headlights is way to go for me - but I can't find them anywhere? Any links? Thanks you
OEM LCI headlights are definitely the way to go for quality of build and quality of light output. You don't want nice and bright corona rings (angel eyes) and then have a crappy projector.

Keep an eye out in classified or on ebay. Do some research on retrofitting!

Am I right that if I just buy OEM LCI Halogens - I won't need to code and it's just Plug'n'Play without any errors? I'll be happy with OEM LCI Halogens if they provide better beam output than DEPO projector - not sure how they compare?

Obviously it comes down to personal preference . But the main question is if there is a BIG difference. And the answer is Absolutely Yes. Night and day.

get the LCI xenons. if you are already upgrading, why go halfway?

no you would need to code the car and possibly get a new FRM

BMW without halos does not look like a BMW. In 07 I bought a brand new E90 328 and changing the headlights was one of the first things i did. That was pretty much what brought me to E90post. Although I went with the OEM xenon option.

Too expensive, I found average price on LCI Xenons $800 for EACH headlamp (and often they are USED) and that is without lamp, ballast etc. So I'm looking at $2000+ for a setup and then like it wasn't enough I'll have to go through not only coding, but also wiring modifications etc to make it work. This is little too much for me right now to spent on a almost 10 year old car to get AEs

P.S. Just thinking loud, please don't pay attention: at that rate I'm starting to wonder if Option 1 - e.g. going with DEPO LED headlights is not that bad idea after all: no wiring mods required, cheaper (found them today on ebay for $500 for a set of 2 headlights), best LED HALO rings on the market, and they will be NEW with 1 year warranty. The only downside is they have weak beam pattern with halogen bulbs, but I'm starting to think I can install HID in them and maybe that will be the key to the problem?

I'm at the end of the process with retrofitting LCI headlights. It's not just the headlights you'll need (along with the half dozen modules for each one). You need a new hood, bumper, kidney grills and FRM3. Then you need coding done to a) have your VIN coded to the FRM3 and b) have the led light elements work properly. It ain't cheap but I've done the orion/lux route in previous cars and they quickly lost their appeal personally.

edit: nevermind, just realized you had E90 sedan. E90 is much easier, only need the headlights if it's xenon to xenon retrofit. (I think you need FRM3 though, for the LED elements)

Yes, that blue/white color, the glimmer/icy look. It must be MINE!

I can tell you right now, retrofitting the LCI design into pre-LCI lights isn't possible... sadly. Not enough room. You'd have to hack up the housing too. LCI headlights for the E92 are quite a big larger than pre-lci, due to them tricking out the parking lamps, DRLs and turn signals with LED designs.

Yeah, I figured as much. You'd just think the aftermarket manufacturers would make a less "aftermarket" looking option at some point. May just suck it up and get it done with the beaded LED look.

Ofcourse it does. Full LED headlights currently that car makers offer has a high aesthetic look and feel to it.

Rims and bumper will make a way bigger difference than halo rings.

Unless you're going with blue LED halos 99% of people won't notice during the day.

At night, the LB draws attention away from the rings. So the only time you'll really be able to show off the halos are during dawn/dusk.

It's definitely nice that mine came equipped with halos, but I could live without them.
