Plasti Dip in engine bay

Hi everyone,

I have been considering painting my engine cover on my car as the previous owner has some how scuffed it up real good and it currently looks like crap.

My question is has anyone ever used Plasti Dip in the engine bay area?
I am obviously a little concerned about the heat under the hood and was wondering if anyone else has tried it before and had any input on how it held up over time.

I've seen videos of people using this stuff on such things like exhaust tips and figured I would maybe give it a try.
I mainly wanted to try the Plasti Dip approach as I really like the fact that it is removable and if I am not happy with it and I change my mind later it can be peeled off, I also actually really like the textured finish of it as well.

What are some of your thoughts on this?

Don't do it. Better off sanding it and using a high heat spray. Or take to a local paint shop and have them paint it .

Thanks for your input guys!
I figure I might just try it out and see how it goes....
I figure the worst thing that will happen is it will look like crap and I can either remove the plasti dip from the cover or it will give me an excuse to purchase a CF cover instead lol.

People use it on exhaust tips, I doubt it will do any harm on an engine cover.
