No Key in Ignition Chime with Dynavin N6
Ok, first off this is not a bash on Dynavin, absolutely love the unit. I have a 2009 328i LCI and installed Dynavin N6. All warning chimes should play through the speakers and all work (seatbelt, door ajar, brake, light on) with the exception of key in ignition chime. I get the dash icon which shows key in ignition but no chime, I've even checked the coding and key in ignition chime is enabled. I've had a few times where I've left my keys in the car as a result of no warning chime and am trying to avoid the inevitable. So please if others with N6 (and similar vehicle) could chime in (no pun intended) on whether or not yours works that would be great. Thanks.

Key in ignition does NOT chime on my E92 with N6, I only get icon on center dash display
I emailed Jeff that sold me my N6 to see what the trick is (if there is one)

Is the dynavin unit powered when you put the key in?
The headunit is responsible for playing that chime, so if it does not kick on before inserting the key (like the oem HU does), then you won't get the chime. You can easily test this by powering the dynavin unit directly with 12v. When you insert the key, see if the chime comes on. |

you might be on to something here... at first I was going to dismiss it because the head unit starts to power up when you open the door (if I recall correctly), because if I unlock the car and open the door quick enough I will get the light warning chime (lights flash when car is locked or unlocked), but I don't know how quickly the unit turns off... I will have to play around with it...
