Cobb stage 2 +, questions
Hey guys, just about to install my fimic to hit stage 2 plus on cobb, there are very few reviews out there regarding this subject nothing that I would consider well reviewed.
Does anyone have this ? How long have you had it for ? Is stage 2+ a bit too aggressive ? I have a full stock body and rime, but full bolt ons, coils and XI Any input appreciated. Cheers. |

Yes people have used it. It's not that aggressive in terms of a protune. Do yourself a favor if you're going to be FBO, get a protune. One map for pump and the other with E85. You'll see the huge gains.

When I say too aggressive , I am putting it in regards to the stock oil cooler and sway bars and all the other stock components. I drive hard, last thing I want to do is have to replace all of these within a years time. The stock turbo is pretty small, I havent heard of may issues and it seems to be able to run boost upto18 psi without premature failure however I could be wrong hence wanted to get some input. car has 55k miles on it |

http://www.cobbtuning.com/maps/bmw-n...0b-stage-2-map However, the off the shelf (OTS) Cobb tunes for N55 are not very good. Get a protune/etune from PTF or Wedge. You should get a CP if you don't have one and also the GFB DV+ to hold boost |

I'm currently using Stage 2+ FMIC AGGRESSIVE and the best time I've ran was 13.2 in an E90. I'm also FBO, and have tried this with a full tank of 93, and then a 70/30 mix of E85.
When I go from a dead stop and launch, I'm roughly around that 18psi mark. Oddly enough, when I pass someone on the highway, I can get up to around 21.8psi. If anyone has had a protune done with our similar setups, I would be very interested to see numbers and logs. I really want a solid answer on whether or not it's safe to squeeze more power out, or if I should continue saving for Pure Stage 2. It would be cool to have a tune now just to help pass time. |

I'm stage 2 Aggressive on the Cobb AP3 and I have 4" DPs, CP and GFB DVs and 5" inch step FMIC and it is a night a day difference from Stg 1 and Stg 2 without these parts.
I've pulled up at 19 and up to 21 psi easily and I believe I could do more if I get the Protune, I'll more than likely do the PPK and then the Protune and see what I hit up after some datalogging. Good luck with your set up, you'll enjoy it but get yourself some DPs.
