Base Audio Issues

Right so i wired in the following:

Mosconi 4 channel harness (similar to technics)
Jl audio 700/5
Audio systems x200 underseat subs and soor components (same as Gladen)

I got everything wired up and was ready to be blown away buttttt it sounds shite. worse than before in fact.

The underseat subs sound great, they pound much louder and clearer than before. happy with these.

However up front its a different story.

The mids sound dreadful, Ive set the crosover really high, 250hz as the moment i try play anything below this with a bit of volume it sounds distorted.

I tried switching the amp and same issue.

Is this anything to do with the base audio EQ?
i am going to get the HIFI coding done soon but just want to be sure its this and nothing else.

Has anyone else upgraded the base audio speakers with an amp and kept factory base EQ?

Thanks in advance.

If you haven't coded the HU, I imagine the factory EQ and high level outputs would be contributing to the issue.

I have the same speakers with the same 700/5 amp and I love my setup. Mids high passed around 180-200hz.

I replaced my HU so no coding needed on my side, but I also started with base audio.

You replaced with aftermarket?

You replaced with a aftermarket Head Unit?
Does the harness split the parallel connection between the
doors and underseats?

Assuming this was directed at me since it looks like OP is sticking with OEM HU.

Yeah, I installed a Pioneer AVIC double din. Works and sounds great, LOVE that I have Navi & BT (phone & audio) now! SD card and video playback are nice extras too.

My base E90 didn't have PDC, and is an '07 model where the other chimes don't play through the stereo. So I didn't have to relocate my original HU. Also, not too concerned about software updates given the age of the car.
