Fog light housing replacement

Hello, can anyone help me replace a shattered fog light housing on a 2012 335i vert m sport?

I pulled the fender liner back but it looks like the housing is screwed in from the front of car.

I'm also looking for a factory service manual in PDF format. If available.

I guess I'll have to remove the entire front bumper. At least it will make installing new grills easier.

Just remove the wheel well liner. You can get it out from there. Bc you can remove the tabs for the lower grill if you need to access from the front.also the grills are easily accessible from taking the 4 bolts out up top and using a flat screwdriver and your hand to remove the tabs.

I tried this. Are you sure it's possible with the lci m sport with oil cooler? I could get access to the housing, but there were 2 screws that can only be undone from the front.

You should be able to access the tabs to remove the lower grill. Then you have front access

Thanks, I may give that a shot. I'm not really sure what im looking for, and I dont want to mess anything up or bend/break it.

From what I've read taking the entire bumper off isnt hard, just about 35 screws.

Taking the whole bumper off is a whole lot more work that it would take to fix your fog light problem.

It's all good man. Use a small flathead to help pry to tabs. Or if you have a plastic trim removal set use those.

Just discovered that I have a broken lens in the left driver's side fog light of my E90 and have to do this as well. Stealership wanted $253 for one but found a ZKW (supposedly OEM) replacement for $60.

Hope it's not too much of PITA to do the job.

Let me know if you are able to install it.

I've got the stock (as far as I know) OEM bumper. The foglights are triangular (not round) and the sharp end of the triangle points away from the body of the car.

Was trying to order the foglight through OEMBimmerParts using part #63176948373 for $60 but got an email/call back from them saying that my VIN shows that my car has "high speed synchronization" and that the part number of the fog light is different and they don't carry it. They say I have to use part #63177158541 and the best price I've found for it is at ECS Tuning for $115 (no shipping or tax).

WTF? Asked the guy what "high speed synch" has to do w/a fog light and he had no clue. Researched in on the Net and came up empty there too.

Turner Motorsport describes the part as: "Only for 335i without oil cooler. Not for Automatic transmission or cars with High Speed Synchronisation (option code S840A)" which contradicts what the guy at OEMBimmerParts told me. I've got an oil cooler (I think - going to look again) and it's an automatic, which (according to the vin) also has high speed synchronization. So, I'm really confused.

Anyone know what the "high speed synchronization" option is and what it has to do w/the operation or fit of the fog lights? Weird.

Update: Decided to just buy the part locally from East Bay BMW for $150 plus tax. ECS was cheaper but had a 5 week wait on the part. Turner and others were charging around $145 plus delivery charges of around $15-20. So, it was pretty much a wash w/online prices and I can pick up the part tomorrow.

Thanks but already ordered/paid for a new left driver's side foglight.

Still wondering why there are different foglight versions (cheaper vs more expensive) based on a "high speed synchro" designation what logically has nothing to do w/the foglights and which no one -- not even parts people at BMW dealers -- seems to understand.

Of course, I have to get the more expensive one. Would be interesting to see what happens if I just put a cheaper one in but not worth the expense/trouble for me to do so. Oh well . . . I seems that's what you always seem to get when you own a BMW.
