Need help with blackline installation
I just installed blacklines yesterday but when i was finished i realized that i had a small problem.............from this view it looks fine..........by the way sorry for the crappy images i took them with my phone and came out blurry i hope you can tell whats goin on.
![]() But from a closer view, i really wish i had my digital camera, the inner lights that install on the trunk are sticking out at the very top corner..... ![]() and theres a little space on the top and i can't get it to go completely up and in........ ![]() I know the pictures are shit its my first time doing this and using the iphone isn't exactly the greatest. Don't ask me why the pictures are sideways i didn't take them that way but can anyone give me some advice? i've tried taking about the screw and trying to align it and screw it back it in but i just can't get it to go....... could it be the product? i ordered them from morristown but i doubt thats it...i must be missing out on something here...............help? suggestions? |

You have to make sure they are lined up while you are putting the screws back in. They have to be adjusted with each screw. You'll need to loosen everything up (no need to take the screws all the way out), and with one hand on the light, and the other with screwdriver in hand, make the adjustment as you go. There is actually quite a bit of "play" with these things. But if you keep adjusting as you go, they should line up nicely.
I made sure I took a good close look at my oem's before I started, and tried to duplicate.

You have to really push/shove them in while giving force in the correct direction. I had exactly the same problem when I installed mine and after about an hour or two of just pushing I finally got it right hah (actually with me it happened only with the left inside light...it got pretty irritating after a while).
A side note: after you get it in, make sure you adjust the positioning of the lights correctly by fine tuning with the screws and moving the lights slightly in the necessary direction. The lights don't just line up since there's a substantial area open area around where the screws go in (i.e. the open area is larger than the screw). Being the perfectionist that I am, I spent probably between another one to two hours loosening, repositioning, and re-tightening the screws to fine tune the positioning.

also make sure the outside edge of the light fits over the "lip" of the trunk.

How in the world are the lights fixtures themselves staying connected to the car and not falling out?
Is the electricity plug the only thing holding the light on the car?? Because the screws are not connected to the car...at least as far as I can tell... |

The smaller set of lights which affix to the trunk lid have a "lip" on them that has to hook around the metal of the trunk. Most likely, that lip isn't hooked around the trunk lid, but just sitting on it.
