Secondary Cats

I've been thinking lately, I'm already running a catless downpipe, why not just get rid of the secondary cats and keep my stock mufflers... Has anyone done this setup? (So it would be whole exhaust is stock except for the removal of the primary and secondary cats)

My secondary cats don't seem to work. I still smell exhaust even though I haven't removed them.

That's because secondary cats are not designed to work as primary.

Just knock out the secondary cats. The cores are ceramic and can be easily broken up with chisel and hammer. I did this for PE Mod and worked perfectly.

I removed mine a couple months ago. Smell seems to be the same. It did add some slight volume and rasp around 3500 RPM. No extra drone. I'll if I can get some sound clips today.

You might not have any drone due to being manual. Us auto guys I'm sure would have some drone. I'll be waiting for your video either way.

What is the difference between auto and manual for drone? I haven't heard of this before.

In my past two cars I had one auto and manual in a R56 and the drone was awful in the auto with the Catless DP and secondary cats removed. In my manual it was nonexistent but who knows maybe it didn't help with the Borla I had on the auto and FJCW I had on the manual.
