Audio system starts playing Radio instead of resuming CD at startup
My other issue is that sometimes (25% maybe) at power on, the audio system does not resume playing the previous CD, but starts up playing a radio station. Selecting any CD command (for example voice command "CD Menu") resumes the CD.
The CDs in question are in the CD changer and consist of WMA files arranged in folders, one per album. I don't recall it doing this before I used compressed audio CDs (but that was only a for few days after delivery). I'm thinking that this has something to do with either the fact that the compressed audio CDs are taking longer to be recognised, or the current cold weather is playing its part and causing a slight delay in recognising the presence of a CD. In either case the audio system makes a decision that there is no CD and falls back to the radio. Again, any ideas? The Car is a late Jan'06 320d, UK spec with i-drive, Pro nav, CD changer, bluetooth and basic (not Hi-Fi or L7) amp/speaker package. |

that's weird, i don't have this problem. every time i get back to my car, it resumes my MP3 CD right away, if that's what i had playing before i shut the car down. i have L7, but i don't think that matters.

It has only happened on one particularly cold day, & only when I've last played an audio or mp3 CD from the multichanger. It has never happened with an audio, mp3 or wma CD in the dash unit. I think it may have been caused by the low temperature affecting reading of the CD index, perhaps because of condensation forming on the disc surface. It has never happened since that particular day (-4 C). |

vivekk, is correct.
On very cold days... ur CD lense reader may fail to read CD in your drive or be able to resume from the spot it left reading last time. So it starts with next entetainment source Or if you have turned off ur CD on a very weak/ physically damaged sector (under normal play mode this error will be ignored/skipped by player & u will not notice this) but on start of system it looses track of it. Or if your CD is damaged at the track it starts reading. any of the above possibilities can cause what you described. |
