Drink (Coffee) Cup that fits ? (dumb cupholders)
Has anyone found a drink cup that fits in the cupholder ?
It needs to stay in the cupholder over bumby roads and not spit up at every bump as well as not being too tall. I want a capacity of 20 oz as well. The best fitting cup I have found was a large (20 oz) Styrofoam (sp) coffee cup from Duncan Donuts. But they don't last too long and there is not a store near me. Everytime I see a new one cup I run out to my 335i to see if it will fit and I have been unsuccessful everytime. Starbucks let me take 5 out to the car to try. Thanks for the help. Doug Hoover |

Weird, I've never had any problems getting cups to fit in the cupholders. Grande at starbucks fits just fine... I also got a thermos type traveling mug thing from Target that fits perfectly too.

Get one of those locking travel mugs - think I got mine from Eddie Bauer or something. Typical rubber gasket coffee mug, but also has a dial on top to lock the spout closed.
This one at Target looks pretty good too.

If you search, you'll find the notorious magnet mod that someone did on their cupholder....seems to work pretty well, even under aggressive circumstances

I've never had a problem with my cupholders holding any cups, cans, coffee from Dunkin Donuts etc...
The only thing is that I cannot put a BIG SLURPEE in there. ![]()

Have had no problems fitting venti coffees from Starbucks. I just have to drive more reasonably and shift extra slow/smooth. I have spilt coffee 3 times, due to my own stupidity.
Your best bet is to buy a stand-alone starbucks style coffee mug and pour it in there since it has a true and solid lid. Mantis, why such a strict policy on closed containers...i.e. alcohol, cases of beer? |
