^Exactly. It is not the NLS crap, it is when a misfire, or other fault, causes the ECU to turn off the injector. None of the current controllers detect the shutdown and continue to supply fuel to that cylinder.

That's exactly what blew my engine on the dyno. Misfire cut DI fuel to bank 2, PI kept spraying, DI injector turned into glow plug, hyper lean, super knock, melted piston down to ringland and melted aluminum onto cylinder wall, massive blow out of rings and ring lands (written in order)...new engine time

BTW I am 6AT
Ouch, I stand corrected. I am well aware this issue exists. I just thought the 6MT guys were more affected. You are the first I have read about with a 6AT.

Yep... This is why all the current controllers for PI, whether it is the JB4 or Haltech are grossly inadequate for the job... And yet, people on N54tech and the other forums fail to acknowledge that because a major vendor (who all know who that is) is standing behind it. Don't forget this was the same company who thought WW meth kit was a good idea just a few years ago.

Instead of just batch fire them and pray the DME will work out the rest like it is right now, these PI kits should really able to read all the important parameters directly from DME and adjust flows to individual injectors...
Supposedly syvecs can do it but $$$$$

Thats why i am excited about Chris@VargasTurboTech DI development with the HPFP. 650WHP on DI only on e85 is amazing. I am sure with a E60 mix there is even more potential.
And best of all looks like the ECU controls it.
I just hope that when it comes to market, if it comes to market, it has a decent price point.

There are a lot of advantages to going DI only -100% OEM ECU control is one of them. Unfortunately our DI only work is promising but no where near ready for production -but we're working on it!

On the cobalt SS turbo (also DI) we were able to modify the stock intake cam fuel lobe to provide more duration, providing an extra 20% fueling to the rail.

Has any vendor tried grinding the fuel lobe on the cam yet ?

N54 pump isn't run off a cam lobe. Different type of pump.

I'm pretty sure Terry's new controller addresses all these concerns.

Isn't Terry's controller for port injection though?

I think I posted without reading the second page. I was addressing the concerns of not being able to shut off an individual injector. The new controller can do that...
