Should I ditch PROcede for JB4
So my car has the following candy today:
PROcede Vischnu Active Autowerke Charge Pipe & Blow Off Valve Kit WAGNER TUNING PERFORMANCE INTERCOOLER KIT EVO AFE Magnum FORCE Stage-2 Pro 5R Intake System Milltek Full Exhaust System 2x100 JET SPEC STAGE 2 CLUTCH KIT AFE Twisted Steel SS Downpipe BMW M Performance brakes What I want is reliability and maximum power, the car is a Manual 335i 2007 E92. I'm not interested in tuning back and forth. Also: With my current setup I sometimes when I put the pedal to the floor on highways in like 6th gear I get an Engine fault error and the car starts limping around 2-3000rpm, all fans comes on maximum and no error codes when I read from INPA. I stop the car and leave it off for a few minutes and then it comes back on as normal, any clues on why? |

You can switch to MHD, it will benefit you. Just read about the features that are available currently. It would be easy and cheap for you since you're not running meth as well. Sounds to me like you might have a coil that is going out. The coils are loaded between 3-4K rpm the most on an oem style twin setup.

About the JB4, will I get the same amount of power from the car on a JB4+MHD setup as I get now on my PROcede setup? |

Procede is so last year (actual 5 years ago), Flash is the way to go with your mods, MHD with a custom tune would be your best bet for max power and safety these days (I actually just switched to MHD today from another flash). Runs great, great power easy to do and you can do it at home and tweak it yourself if you want. It is a very active platform and will only get better from here. You can add in a JB4 when you need meth control or more fuel or you do big turbos, but for the current mods, no real need for the JB4 and it is so nice not to have to mess with your ecu box and wiring anymore (I ditched my Procede about 6 years ago!)
Total outlay if you have an android device is $150 + $40 for the cable (which works for other stuff like coding and flashing other modules with INPA BMW Software) and a $5 OTG USB adapter. Add another $50 for a cheap android device - can't beat the price!

Android tablets are very cheap. Jb4 has some cool features that MHD doesn't have (Bluetooth, ethanol mixture in real time, gauge sweep, resale value) but MHD is being developed constantly, and as other said, a flash tune is almost always better than a piggyback

For a newbie then, why is a flash tune better then JB4 or PROcede?
Also, when I hit a pot hole the car went in Engine fault mode again, does that makes sense with the coils? If one is bad would it be more sensitive to movements? Or could it be an injector that is failing? |

For a newbie, flash is directly changing parameters and you just plug into the car and program it.
For a JB4, you have to take the car apart, dig into the ECU harness and extract a bunch of wires, take it out for warranty work etc and a piggyback is fooling the ECU into thinking incorrect info, but is needed if you need external control for things like Meth. MHD and the JB4 work well together, MHD is cheaper and a better place to start in my book and then you layer in the JB4 when and if you need it. As for the pothole, it indicates something has a poor contact and when jarred causes an issue, could be a lot of things though from wiring, or coils or even plugs, injectors, lots of possibilities.

Thank you, this is actually very possible indeed. I got the same thing happening today but after I took the battery connection of and then put it back on again, started the car and took of, no boost at all up to 4000 rpm then the turbos kicks in, what can this be? No engine fault this time..
