Dinosaur procede and upgraded turbo & tmap sensor question

1st, I do realize the procede is "obsolete", but the car was built a few years back..BUT I'm looking for guidance anyways. Here's the scenario

Here's my setup:

-2008 n54 335i
-FBO no outlets or inlets
-procede REV3 (yes dinosaur parts, I built her 3 years ago) lol
-open flash tablet backend (procedeflash)
-DCI
-ETS 7" FMIC
-forge DVs
-Vishnu charge pipe
-Vishnu/FFTEC flex fuel conversion kit w/ethanol sensor, I do run full e85 sometimes.
-Vishnu/FFTEC LPFP (walbro 450) inline with OEM LPFP
-AR catless downpipes
-cat back
-stock turbos

my stock turbos are on their way out. I plan on running VTT GC LITES with VTT inlets and outlets.

Let's assume I'd like to run a bit higher boost, how do I change that in the procede and what would be a "safe" number? I'm assuming if have to use a 3.5 or 4 bar TMAP sensor with BMS adapter. so is it just plug and play once I change the boost? Do I just change my target boost??

I'd appreciate any help, asides someone saying "MHD" or something similar. There's gotta be some guys on here that ran procede in the past or maybe still do run the procede.

The only thing that comes to mind is uploading the upgraded turbo map off the site and setting boost to 20psi target. I have no idea if that map supports e85 or meth (I'll check on that) and without a custom tune you are probably limited to 20psi. I am really upset about actually running meth on my car since you basically need a piggyback unless you know how to hook up the meth kit standalone which nobody does at least in my area.. I am also definitely not running a jb4, so my only choice is MHD plus a standalone meth kit that I have no time to figure out how to make work for the most part.

So you can run methanol just have to use the correct firmware, but not e85 it looks like, unless of course you find someone that can custom tune the procede..

Here is how mine is set up and it runs great on stock turbos.

Thanks for the responses, but I'm all set up already to run everything I have in my list. I boost 19+ on ethanol already. My current setup all works together great. I have all the correct maps and back end flash.

But since my stock turbos are failing, I'm gonna upgrade, and if I upgrade, I was wondering if it's possible to boost..let's say..maybe 25lbs? Idk if it's even possible to go that high with the procede.

I was thinking if I get the tmap sensor, that would allow me to boost more if I change the??(target boost)?

I guess I'm just wanting to get the most out of upgraded turbos, while just integrating them into my current setup.

Oh I see, I just don't think the boost scalar on the procede is set up for anything higher than 20psi, so probably not unless you find someone that can do custom tunes is what I am thinking.

this is probably a really stupid question, but id like some reassurance...

if i replaced the stock turbos with upgraded turbos and inlets and outlets, but left all my settings the same, would i feel a increase in power...assuming with my current setup i cannot go over 20lbs of boost..

basically if i bolted on the VTT GC LITES with in/outlets, would there be gains? will it be faster at 19psi on VTT vs Stock.

hope thats clear enough..lol

you will have to make sure the boost scale is correct for that sensor. Not sure how to do that with the Procede.

And yes, the VTTs will push more air than stock at the same boost levels so it will be faster.

thanks

i guess for now ill juat leave the tune the same, and upgrade the turbos and inlets/outlets

thank you all!

id consider moving to MHD or JB4 or both. They provide a much higher level of tuning capabilities and arent that expensive.

Yeah that should work make sure you log though! Also make sure you use the upgraded turbo map they have on the site and not any of the stock turbo maps! If you have meth you'll be able to use it, but not E85 with it like I mentioned before.

Yes there will be a power increase. Boost is a measure of restriction.

Imagine a nice big old tractor tire. You have a bicycle pump. The tire has 19psi and I tell you to keep it there after I poke a tiny pin hole in it. You won't have to pump very much to keep 19 psi in that tire. You aren't moving a lot of air.

Now if I take a 1" hole saw to the tire, and ask you to keep it at 19 psi, you'd have to pump like superman to keep it at 19 psi. You're moving a ton of air.

Not only this, but with the upgraded turbos you'll be able to hold that boost all the way to redline, resulting in a dramatic increase in horsepower over stock turbos as the revs rise.

Any upgraded turbo that has a larger turbine is going to (hopefully) flow more air and offer less restriction than the stock turbos. The GC manifolds flow very well and are efficient in those boost ranges. Just understand that your current fueling may be inadequate because the new 19 psi is now flowing more air (see analogy above) and you'll need a correspondingly increased amount of fuel to match it.

^ Upgraded fuel pump with meth should suffice, no?
