Remote fob not working - related to shifter? Troubleshoot?
I purchased a used 2008 e92 automatic recently. The wireless fob wasnt working. Previous owner mentioned it stopped working when he switched the stock automatic shifter to an aftermarket one (it has lights in the shifter itself indicating which gear it's in).
So I went to a mechanic and had it checked out. He confirmed my remotes battery was charged and the remote was sending out a signal when I press any buttons. He even gave me a new one which I drove for a bit to program it. Neither my old one nor the new one works. The car starts and everything. I don't have comfort access. The buttons not doing anything at all. Does anyone know where the fob reciever for the 335 might be. I think the reciever might be broken or a fuse blown. |

Looks like the key was added to your car and only CAS was programmed without EWS
