Flashing CEL

I'm having this weird issue where when I drive the car hard, it'll start flashing the small CEL and then it goes away, then comes back after a few seconds and then goes away but there are no codes.

Car pulls fine, no misfires or rough idle.

Anyone?

Flashing CEL is typically a misfire. I would scan for codes ASAP.

I have also read that a flashing CEL can indicate that it's a more serious issue that could potentially cause permanent damage if not fixed soon.

Since you say it's not misfiring, I would scan for codes before driving it.

You need a Bavarian technic tool / BMW Diagnostic tool or other high end (snap on) tool that can read BMW shadow codes.

It's likely a misfire. Generic code readers don't show everything.

The steering doesn't shake and it doesn't go into limp mode. The small CEL just flashes a couple of times, goes away and then will flash again even at idle.

Doesnt a flashing CEL usually indicate that you need to pull over immediately because somethings about to fail catastrophically if you dont?

Edit - OP i dont mean to scare you, i just recall reading in other car manuals that flashing CEL usually means something bad. (i.e Not enough oil in the car)

Do you have a JB4? Flashing CEL means a failsafe activated.
