How to avoid Dsp/Amp reboots during engine crank?
I have tried signal sensing through speaker inputs for remote as well as the pin 13 remote behind the idrive to turn on my Dsp/Amp. Either way works great, but both have the same behaviour during engine crank.
When I unlock the car, Idrive wakes up, Dsp powers on which then in turn powers the amp on. When I put the key into the slot and crank the engine, all the current being drawn by the starter results in the Dsp/Amp rebooting. It takes around 15/20 seconds for Dsp to reboot because of a 1 or 2 second engine crank which is very annoying. I was thinking if I could add a time delay relay on the remote wire going to the Dsp this could solve the issue. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks |

Sounds like you may need a new battery.

^^ I would have to agree. Shouldn't have that problem at all and I've never seen it before of several dozens that we installed.

Thanks for your replies guys. my battery is almost new, only a few months old. My amp/dsp is connected to the main positive battery terminal. (Main + lug on the actual battery not the fused distribution block) Could this cause any issues?
