E90 335xi - Strange Shifting Issue
Hi All,
Last week I did an AT Fluid Service on my 08 335Xi. I followed this http://www.rmeuropean.com/bmw-e90-32...id-change.aspx and http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...y+transmission. I changed the Pan c/w Filter and used the correct Shell M1375.4 Spec ATF Fluid, checked the fluid level at 30-50*C and did a transmission adaptation reset. All was good, car drove nicely and shifted smoothly for the 5 days after. Fast forward to today and I feel a little bit of a hesitation when accelerating normally (part throttle) almost as though it's struggling to shift gear. Pulled over took a look and there was a small leak, checked it and it appeared to be water, I thought it was coming from the exhaust thought nothing of it and kept going. The sluggish/hesitation when shifting appeared to be getting worse. Upon getting the car home I threw it up on jack stands and crawled under the car, I found the source of the leak and it most certainly appears to be water (smells, feels and evaporates like water). Take a look. As you can see in this picture it's definitely originating from higher than the interface between the pan and transmission To me it looks like the water is accumulating on the white piece in this picture which leads me to believe it's coming from even higher. I re-checked the AT Fluid level and it appears to be at the correct level, I'm baffled as to where all this water is coming from and why the car is behaving strangely when shifting, are the two related. Any help is greatly appreciated.
