Looking for RGBW headlights

Hello,
I have a 2010 (2009 manuf date) E92 that came with the adaptive HID lights (pics attached).

I am looking for good RGBW replacements. Seeking recommendations, experience, advice, knowledge, etc.

99% of the time I'll be running white. And I'll need the white to be as good as or better than stock. The color is just for off-street show.

There seem to be two kinds of products. Once where you replace the bulb with an LED cluster and others where there is a ring of LEDs you install to make the halo.

I read where dspence installed some fromAfterPartz, but it was a 6 hour install

A small post about OSS Raptors from J.Dub

Of course there are the DTECH ones that are sold by supporting vendor here.
This thread shows Socket's install

But I'd like to learn and understand more. I guess I don't properly understand the difference between products that put an LED ring on the outside and ones that replace the main bulb. I guess I never fully realized how our headlights work. I guess the angel eye rings are just light gathered from the main bulb and projected out in that pattern (rather than being from a separate light source).

So if anyone has a better understanding of the products, which ones are good, what the install is like, I would love to learn more.

Thanks,
Hammers

That only works for a comment in a thread. It does not work for the root post that creates a thread.
