BPC customer get's a replacement engine and upgrades -335D-

We had an opportunity to replace an engine and do quite a few upgrades to this 335d. The motor developed a rod knock and the customer supplied a complete replacement engine, which we transferred some modifications over on to, as well as installed a few new components.


Here's what we're working on:

Replacement Engine
Silicon vacuum line replacement
CBU Cleaning
Swirl Flap Deletes
AA Rodriguez EGR Race pipe
Oil, Transmission, and Coolant service
Fuel Filter replacement
Front rotors, pads and sensor
New Guibo and center support bearing
LSD and diff lockdown kit with 75W140 Redline Differential Fluid
Ohlin's coil over suspension system
Adjustable links for the rear suspension.
Aluminum subframe bushings/ differential bushings
Front & Rear sway bar

Stay tuned for the Dyno results.

The clues as to who it is so far are white msport from Virginia. NC335D is white but obviously from NC. We'll learn soon enough.

Very nice, what was the reason of rod knock ? Didn't hear many of those in the m57

We are not sure, the customer only wanted to swap engines and we did not tear down the old one.

Silly question. Why not upgrade to the Ford steel tranny pan? Better hear dissipation, and future filter changes won't require the entire pan to be swapped again.

We're going to be hearing alot more M57 rods knocking if people keep driving the long OCI's with the amount of fuel dilution being produced by regens.

There are aftermarket Ford aluminum ones made for the 6R80 transmission. Be careful how far it hangs down though. This is why I had my fins machines down to lower height (pan is from a B7 Alpina, 2006). Steel actually isn't a great heat conductor. It is better than plastic but not near as good as aluminum. I guy that used to be on here (banned now, and for a dumb reason) was going to put a mustang pan on but ultimately chose to stick with a new plastic OEM one. He had rebuilt his transmission and wanted a more durable pan. He was concerned how the filter would stay connected to the internal port. My filter does sort of hang there since it isn't part of the pan now. I've been running this pan for 11,000 miles. I got the pan used but it is a unicorn. They retail for $1500. The guy had bought it to put on his 335d but ended up selling the car.

Second photo is where I had cut a window into the lower cover to provide better cooling for the pan. It's super hot here in Texas (except for the temporary monsoon we've been having).
