Cool, when you design this oil cooler, be sure to test fitment on a 335i coupe with the m-sport front bumper, because that front bumper, which is oem by the way, forced my shop to cut some ducting on the factory oil cooler. Now, it turns out there is different ducting for the oil cooler to accommodate the m-sport front bumper, but when the shop imported the parts we didn't know that.

This is good news. Hopefully it won't be priced like the competition.

Helix is looking to be the most sensible tuner out of the whole market right now (not counting TB's JuiceBX).
No lame promises, accurate description of products, actually testing items before shipping them, and pricing them within the grasp of the greatest volume of owners. |

Hopefully someone will also come out with upgraded ducting since that seems to be a weak point. The upgraded cooler will help, but the ducting will be key.

How is that oil cooler coming along? It's been in development for a while i'm guessing (it was mentioned a solid 10 pages ago in "attache is a winner")? Does it have its own thread yet?

I like Helixand their products, but post #2 and the rest turned this thread completely . I mean thx for the great info, I've also read it in the attache thread, I'm looking forward to the new OC, but this is a thread jack!
To the OP> I think this OC is suitable from the first look, but there is also more of them like this on the market. I see some marketing BS in the description, but U'll find it everywhere, so what? I dunno about the price, if it's suitable U can buy it and find a good shop to do the clamping and ducting. Do U have any issues with oil temps? I mean could U test it after replacing to provide a review like "during my racing on the road course I got a limp-home or my temp was 270-290 etc., now it never got through 270..."?

to the OP, i'll help you out as i have already done the research on this setup.
B&M makes the top of the line oil coolers, i have spoken to them on numerous occasions. they recommended going with either the 70274 or the 70298, the latter comes with a 12v fan and is suitable for all types of fluids. what bothered me was that they don't provide a BTU rating on this one because it comes with a fan. honestly, the 70274 is more than enough and is similar to the DINAN, its 3 inches bigger (width). B&M OCs come with standard .5"NPT fittings with convert to AN -8, but thats incorrect, thats for the overall exterior diameter not actual oil flow, the correct one i believe is -11. www.jegs.com is a good site for fittings and lines, BTW. Hope that helps.
