Replacing transmission drain plug -- a problem?

I'm planning to drain and refill at the next club DIY day but not replace the pan and filter, which I did 20K miles ago. (Car is at 76K.) I note that the drain plug looks sort of flimsy -- has anyone had experience with removing and reinstalling? Should I have a replacement pan on hand just in case?

I did it once, without issue.
