ST Coilovers and camber plates?
What's going on everybody? I have a quick question regarding camber plates. I'm planning on ordering a set of Forgestar f14 SDC ( 19x 9.5 +22 front/ 19 x 11 +25 rear with 235/35/19 and 265/30/19) for my e92. I already have ST coilovers, but I don't have camber plates which I read from other members that it's required along with rolling the fenders to get those wheels to fit. This is my first time going outside of OEM specs when ordering wheels so I'm completely oblivious to all of the extra required stuff, but I want these wheels so I'm willing to pay the extra bucks. My question is can I order any camber plate to fit the ST coilovers or will I have to order a complete new suspension setup that comes with camber plates? And if I can buy camber plates, which one would you all recommend? Thanks

I'm pretty sure if u can find some camber plates that fit the kw v1 ur good on fitment for St coilovers. You can run the wheels without camber plates but I've heard they stick out about 8mm in the front. I just ordered a set of fortune auto coilovers that have camber plates built in. I just got my forgestar wheels from forgestar the other day. Only took 3 weeks so I would say order asap so u can prevent long wait time I also ordered a 9 5 +22 for the front and a 10 +15 for rear with a 10mm spacer I did a 10 because it's guna be easier to work with

If that's the case...less money and that may be the route I take. I don't think I would care if the wheels stuck out any unless there's something in the wheel world that's against that . I would really prefer to do the at least amount of work possible. I understand rolling the fenders is required but I'm not going to mess with camber once I put these on. It's a one stop shop in my books. Thanks for the input! I may just get me a set tonight!

Yea sux that these wheels require the work they do but they look bad ass and yea 8mm isn't much of a poke and poke looks better to a extent in my opinion. FYI 25mm is a inch so that let's you know what u have to deal with its about a 1/3 of a inch of poke from fender

U should eventually invest in some camber arms for the rear tho it's gunna prevent premature tire wear. Sux it cost money but better than going thru tires fast

U should get vorsglag it's something spelled like that I have seen someone run them with St coilovers so I know they work and u should do manzo or Megan racing camber arms in hear the same manufacturer makes em both so it's ur decision the manzo arms are cheaper Megan is a more reputable name better warranty I'm going manzo

The camber plates are guna run u a pretty penny so temporarily u can run the 225 35 19 inch tire and then do the camber plates when u wanna invest the money it's definitely worth the money in my opinion you have more adjustability

I would invest in some Vorshlag camber plates in the front if I were you, they help with adjustability a lot. ST Coils are similar to KW (what I have) so you should go with OEM-style plates because that is the size KW uses. They are pricey but well worth the premium over megan or ground control as those plates tend to clunk and squeal over time (from what I've researched on the forums).
http://www.hpashop.com/Vorshlag-E82-...es-e82-e9x.htm It's also a good idea to get some adjustable rear toe arms because if your camber is going to be maxed out, your toe will need to be adjusted so your tires don't get chewed up. http://www.hpashop.com/HP-Autosport-...2-e9x-nonM.htm If you're gonna do something like this, then you may as well do it right the first time. I'm running M3 fitment TE37sl's and that is my current setup. |

Without some kind of camber plate, and those wheels, you're going to be rubbing like crazy. In addition to camber you'll have to pay attention to caster with your alignment. Too much positive caster and the front wheels will be too far forward in the wheel wells and rub on the front of them all the time.
Also worth noting that the E92 front fenders are plastic and can't be rolled. The rears are metal though. |
