EGR Scale 1-10

so I decided to take a little peek at my EGR to see how bad it was. I wanted to remove the EGR and Intake manifold, but man was I struggling with figuring out how to get access to everything. THE BACK ENGINE COVER WITH THE FOAM...WTF could not get that thing off! so I gave up but I was able to take a quick peek with my phone camera.

on a scale of 1-10 how bad is my EGR carbon build up?

also if anyone has a very detailed dummy proof DIY steps with pics on the removal of EGR and intake manifold it would be greatly appreciated. the ones i was referencing from seemed to have some missing steps/details. everything is tightly packed under the hood.

I'm not an expert, but my guess is your buildup is about a 5 on a 1-10 scale. Also, in order to get the rear engine cover off, remove this thing:

I would say only looking at EGR throat isn't a fair judge to give a score. My EGR throat was worse than this. I pulled intake and rectangular ports were next to perfect and found light fowling on the circular tangential ports. You just don't know until intake is pulled. Dazza is right about that firewall panel

To get very back rectangular port nut off, you need to unplug the fuel rail harness connector. Dazza wrote a thread with tips.
