Unhappy Paint Peeling

Hi guys,

I have a 2006 330i, when I bought the car the paint peeling by my windscreen was tiny, I didn't even think about it. However its got a little out of control and needs sorting as its seems down to the metal now.

Does anyone know of any reputable bodyshops in South East London, I live towards West Dulwich?

Thank you

Has it been sprayed previously? Never seen that before that is quite bad

Wrap it. $10-$20 for a wrap and probably 15min of your time. Definitely cheaper than getting them painted again.

Those trims just pull off, find someone breaking one the same colour will be cheapest.

I have no idea, bought the car in 2013, so anything could have happened previously.

I suppose that's a decent option.

I see what you mean, I had a quick look on eBay and found one for £18, but its an offside one. Will have a look out for a nearside one.

Do you know how easy it is to detach it?

Literally pulls off if you're careful, I used to be a windscreen fitter & removed them daily. Just start at one end and use a trim tool or by hand and be careful. It's not so bad removing it if you're replacing as if the old one bends slightly it won't matter

Got a similar problem with my front bumper, clear coat peeled in a small area, now it's about a foot wide in size. Going to have to get it re-sprayed I think.

It's a pain in the arse, wish I'd have taken it to BMW when I first got the car to see if they could sort it.

Good to see a fellow Prestonian on the forum btw.

I'd like to understand how these side screen trims clip in - one on mine is not sitting properly and I'd like to refit it. Any tips?

They clip in with metal brackets, they sometimes need adjusting with pliers so that they 'grip' properly.
