Msport or non Msport

I am currently in the market for a 2011 335d that I will use as my daily driver for the next 2-3 years. I plan on doing the BPC stage 2.5.

Is the Msport package worth waiting to find one over an equally as nice Sport package? Does it handle better or mainly just looks?

I drive roughly 40-50k miles a year. Do you all think the drivetrain will hold up with the BPC stage 2.5 package installed?

I do all maintenance at scheduled intervals and this car will be replacing my Lexus GS300.

Thanks for your opinions as this will be my second foray into Bimmers since my 95 M3.

The MSport package is entirely cosmetic (valences, bumpers, interior trim). There is no difference in suspension.

Don't know about the tune, but the engine and transmission seem rock solid. It's the emissions systems that are problematical.

I have msport. I like it but keep in mind front bumper is lower. I've scraped the cr$p out of bottom chin of mine. I like the seats but a regular sport gives you those too. In balance, I'd be okay with regular sport and not have to have m-sport.

I would jump on the first solid sport or M-sport you find, I think a low mileage example of either is becoming increasingly harder to find.

I was in this exact same position about a month ago. After reading on this site I came to the conclusion that I wanted at least a Sport model just for the seats alone. I test drove a non-sport model and I personally love the stiffness of the Sport version. I ended up finding 2 very similar 2011's in San Diego- one was a Sport, the other was an M-sport. I ended up getting the M-sport, but I think I could have been very happy with the Sport one too. Now that I have it, I do really like the cosmetic exterior differences and the M door sills, etc. my last BMW was also a 95 M3 sonI kind of like the M touches. One thing to consider- I think all the M-sports come with the M3 steering wheel with paddle shifters. I don't think the Sport pkg has the M steering wheel and I don't think all the Sport models came with paddle shifters... Last thing, and I realize this is kind of silly, but I HATE interior wood trim. My M-sport has the aluminum-looking trim, and I think all the M-sports have the same thing. I know you can replace or overlay the wood trim but it is nice to already have that done!

2 corrections.
My m-sport has wood trim.

Paddle shifters are not an automatic in the M-sport package. Another $100 option.

I am currently in negotiations for a white Msport I have found.

What I am curious about now is can I get 30+mpg in the city and 40+mpg on the highway with a BPC stage 2.5 with normal driving?

I love the idea of the turbos whistling at idle and take off and the ability to pull very strongly on the highway, but 90% of my driving will be normal conditions and being able to take corners well.

White M-Sport would be very sharp.

I am hoping so. I would like to black out the side mirrors, wheels and kidneys. That should give me the storm trooper look I am going for. Then onto an interior LED kit and update the headlights with LED Halos and fog lights with a LED kit. Debadge the whole car.

A while ago a got a whole car interior LED kit from one guy for 20-30 bux (can't recall) and it has been great ever since. All colour matched, bright. If you want the details I would be happy to share, PM me. I have no affiliation with the guy.
