So my relatively (<5months) new AG 359s have developed cracks on one of the rear alloys wtf....running non run flat tyres too!

225 rims that came with the car are cracked too.

I'm guessing we are not covered by a warranty/manufactures guarantee etc etc?

Any way rant over.....my question is I'm running 265/30/19s tyres wise can I run 265/35/19 with the 10inch rim with out scrubbing the arches? Any one tried this size?

Wheels crack, it's just a fact of life, you could try asking where you bought them but I doubt it, as they'll blame a big pothole etc.

Yea I assume that would be the case.

I have PM'd CM wheels but like you say it's going be a pothole etc etc hopefully I can buy a single...not sure.

The rubber band profile tyres size don't help I think increasing the profile size may help?

I'm running 265/30 and no issues. Possibly just need to be more wary when driving.

265/35 is M3 rear size so doable but you'd probably want to increase front too to match.

yea normally am very careful after the mv4 cracking on me

what's the size up front that you are using? 235/40 or 225/40?

Have you had your arches rolled/moded at all?

I'm running 235/35/19 fronts on 8.5j et36 rims and 265/30/19 rears on 9.5j et36 rims with no issues and no arch rolling.

I bought wheels from cm wheels about over 4 years ago in 19" 265/30 tyres and they survived many potholes as roads here are terrible. Contact him maybe you get one cheap or full set with discount. Good luck

Damn. I was thinking of getting some AG wheels. I thought there were a bit more solid than your average wheel. I guess even they're not immune to our shit roads.

No cast wheel will be THAT strong, that's why there is Forged wheels.

This is one case where it's cracked and I'm sure there are a lot more out there that have had no issues.
Every case will be different and different factors. I'm sure that you'd be fine on the same wheel.

As above buddy. Not always the case. Of the millions of cast wheels out there it's hard to say they all aren't that strong. I've run lots of cast wheels (OE and aftermarket such as BBS, Ronal, Rays, etc) and I use my cars daily and have hit plenty of potholes and never once had a cracked wheel and that's over some 23 years of modding etc.

Forged rims are most definitely superior but more for the fact they are strong (not always stronger than cast but far lighter for the same strength or better). But then you pay plenty more for them.

I also had a rear AG M359 crack on me running 265/30/19 after about 18 months I think it was. I'm very careful avoiding potholes and my MV4s never had a crack in them the 2 years I was running them

As above buddy. Not always the case. Of the millions of cast wheels out there it's hard to say they all aren't that strong. I've run lots of cast wheels (OE and aftermarket such as BBS, Ronal, Rays, etc) and I use my cars daily and have hit plenty of potholes and never once had a cracked wheel and that's over some 23 years of modding etc.

I'm also running aftermarket cast wheels (Fifteen52s) that haven't cracked or buckled. I don't really drive different, still go down bad lanes etc and have coilovers. My point is they could still crack, they're just not designed to take the kind of impacts a pothole at 70mph on the motorway could cause. Forged wheels were originally designed to hit kerbs at far higher speeds though. Obviously you pay for them!

The point I was making was that you won't find a cast wheel that will 100% not crack/buckle.

You could buy real M359's, they won't crack, being forged and all...

Right guys got an update.....

Chris and James have sorted me a replacement wheel!

Can't fault the chaps at CM Wheels great communication after a few emails back and forth it was sorted.

Will deffo use CM again they could of easily of told me its my own fault etc but I guess thats the difference thats set them apart!
