I was thinking of getting the VRSF downpipes and then getting the JB4 because it had the auto clear, which my dinan tune does not have lol, I was just wondering besides the emissions inspection do you really need the DP fix?
Btw first post guys and glad to be a part of the forums finally ![]() ![]() |

Check the vendor section for combo deals No need for the DP fix for daily driving as the JB4 autoclears the DP code

JB4 only has autoclear though right? So during an emission test it would still fail, or am I misinformed? Cobb AP clears the code and is setup to pass emissions, no?

Both the JB4 and Cobb will not pass readiness with a catless downpipe in place. The only way to pass readiness is to remove the catless downpipe and go back to stock or utilize a DP fix. |

My car did not pass with this setup, but some of my friends / customers did pass. Im not encouraging anyone to illegally pass emission testing, just answering jcarv20s question

I dont mean to revive an old thread, but it is possible to pass with a catless if they are only doing the OBDII Inspection.
Quoting this from the NYS DMV site: "Unless your vehicle is exempt, you must complete an emissions test in addition to the safety inspection (see “Requirements and Exemptions" below). The emissions inspection only takes a few minutes, and the types of tests required depend on the model year and weight of your vehicle: Model year 1996 and newer gas-powered vehicles less than 8,501 lbs.: On-Board Diagnostic inspection (OBDII). Model year 1997 and newer diesel-powered vehicles less than 8,501 lbs.: On-Board Diagnostic inspection (OBDII). Model year 1995 to 25 years old at 18,000 lbs. or less: Low-enhanced emission inspection." If you have a tune that autoclears the code for your DP, in theory you should be ok unless for some reason they decide to follow the Low-Enhanced Emissions Inspection on your vehicle which visual and pretty thorough. Disclaimer: This is for NYS though. I'm not sure about other states, but I know NYS is almost (if not just as much) as strict as CA with emissions. Just my 2 cents worth. ![]() |
