Exclamation Need help identifying a Lincoln from the 40s-50s

I have a picture of a car that used to belong to my grandfather
And my uncle wants me to find out what model it is for a book he's writing about my grandad
Are there any experts here on Cadillac of the 40s and 50s?
Im very good with non American cars, but anything American other than a corvette etc I suck
Any assistance would be much appreciated

My grandad is the one on the far right
The one second from the let looks like his accountant
Kick ass number plate, it basically said "Cairo 500"
I still have one of those plates

It is a Lincoln, not a Cadillac. Note the writing on the hood. Looks like a 1946 http://momentcar.com/lincoln/1946/lincoln-continental/

I'd say it was a 1947 Lincoln Zephyr

I saw that writing with an L on the side
But I had assumed that was a model designation
But you are right, it's def a lincoln
