Engine oil - BMW switched from Castrol to Shell?
Car: F10 N20.
I'm from China, used Castrol 0w40 for the first 3 services, but BMW stopped to offer Castrol oil any more in China, instead of a "BWM OEM" oil, which made by Shell Hong Kong. The market is full of fake oil in China, guys, is BMW US also use Shell instead of Castrol now in service center now? And how about the mobile 1 gold bottle, 0W40? Thx! |

Mobil1 will be fine but I seriously doubt a dealer will use it for scheduled services. If you are doing services yourself then you will be fine using it. Not sure on the packaging in China but make sure its the European formula. They took the LL-01 designation of their Euro oil but the formula hasn't changed at all. |
