New 335d owner - Glad to be here
Hi all, I am driving down to Houston on Saturday to pickup my slightly used 2011 335d Titanium silver/black leather with M-Sport package and am happy to be a part of this group. I am planning on many mods to improve the reliability and performance of this car, and to generally just add my own touches. I am hopeful to meet some great people that can help me as I learn about this car, it's faults, and it's capabilities.
Please say hello and especially if you are in Texas (I work in Austin and live near San Antonio). Rick |

Welcome to the disease err I mean club. Sounds like you've made a good find and wishing you all the best. However from past precedence here the check engine light will come on within the first 500 miles. Lol. These are certainly unique and fun cars.

Who's starting a pool of when the CEL comes on? I've got on the drive back home.

I have enjoyed mine - not without a few issues, but it has been good. Bought a 2010 with 41k as a CPO back in May of 2013. Made it to December 2014 with no issues. Dealership was able to remove the CEL and it drove well up until November 2015. With another CEL and being out of warranty, I was forced to lose a few parts. And the tune turned it into a beast. Going on a year with tune and delete. Smile everyday. Currently at 87k.

If I do the swirl flap blank offs, EGR delete, SCR delete, DPF delete, and remap I will minimize any issues? Sounds like most SES and CEL are from emissions crap (I'll be turning this into a track car so off road only).

Hello from South Texas. Are you buying from a dealer in Houston or what? How many miles on the slightly used m-sport? I drive an m-sport too.

I bought mine last year with 28k miles. I made it three weeks before my cherry was popped with my warm glowing pal, service engine soon. Ah the fond memories, but right now my car is sitting in the garage waiting for a brain transplant, hopefully to prevent future emissions failures.
My mechanic and I are on first name basis, haha, other than the emissions, and cbu these cars are pretty reliable. I've driven mine about 24k miles and have had everything except the dpf replaced under warranty at least 1x. But he clear lake dealer says it's not unusual to see cars with emissions failures, they see them every week. |
