Best Independent Shop in the SF Bay Area?
Trying to find and build rapport with a local shop so I can have my car towed there in case of an emergency.
Any suggestions? Tried to obtain a quote from ABS, but still find them a bit pricey and may just go the dealer. |

I used to go to this indy while i was a student at Berkeley a few years back. They are not "BMW specific" indy, but overall very reliable and reasonable pricing.

Elians Auto in San Carlos area. John does great work, he's worked on my E46 and E53, both are running great. Anytime I'm not able to do anything myself, I tow them over to John and he gets them running asap

Good experience with Phaedrus BMW, in SF.
They're professional, and get it done the first time. Better reviews than dealer and cheaper, though not cheap. Open 'til 9 some nites, which is great for picking up car after work. Some loaners w/advance notice. |

Wayne at Dinan in Mountain View is a great guy and has done well over $12k in repairs including a head gasket on my ride all covered under an aftermarket warranty. Always does great work! Tell him Jason sent you

All Foreign Auto in San Jose specializes in BMW but also does other euro brands. Rudy is the owner and he has a solid team of mechanics. I've been going to him for years.

I go to Motorspeed West in Santa Clara - a German specialization shop owned by a pair of brothers and they have been very dependable for me. I think they're pricing is pretty competitive, and offer great turn around.

My experience with Mason who owns Fastlane european wasn't the best.
A&D Autowerke in Santa Clara gave me good price with service and Adam is friendly.

TrackSpec Autosports in Fremont is my go-to shop nowadays. I've been to plenty of shops around the bay and TrackSpec has been the best to deal with. Jon and the guys are masters of their craft and a pleasure to chat with too.
