And it's frustrating....I've had every generation since the E30 (which I still have) And they got better each time....E36 325is....had it for a month but it was sooo nice. E46 330 convertible....awesome so well balanced and astoundingly solid feeling for a drop top....and while my E90 felt a tiny bit underpowered and a little softer than the E46 I still came to love it.....but this new one....not so much. Think when I hit 200k I'll get a WRX. |

waiting for the G20. have 106K on my e90 and hoping I can drive it till the new G20 is available. one thing though I will be quick to judge the G20. when the F30 first came out and I had a rental in 2012-2013 (forget exactly when) my first impression was this is a much cheaper made car, rental grade was my first impression like many others have said since. BUT I actually couldn't believe BMW would cheapen their cars the way they did so I refused to believe it...... Now after several years of both us BMW fans and the prefessional critics who write the mags saying the same thing, I now believe in my first impression. The G20 will have exactly one shot with me on that first test drive to change my mind OR I will be abandoning the 3 series platform for MB or Audi.

In Sport+ it still doesn't feel particularly planted but definitely more BMW-like, sorta. Still, it's not all that great for the money. It's clinical too, soulless, and numb. Fairly disturbing to drive in any mode, not real happy with it so am thinking of rolling it over in the lease to the G30 chassis when it becomes available. Don't know where BMW thinks it's going but it's not where they've been which is kinda sad in a way. No idea what to do if the G30 is as sucky.

UPDATE: So after 5 months, Enterprise is selling my rental and I had to go in and get a different one. Had the lovely choice between a Nissan Altima and a Chrysler 300. Went with the Chrysler because... idk, I guess I wanted to see how bad it really was. So a quick review after driving it for a day.
-Pretty slow with the base engine. - Interior design is horrible. Theres a digital speedo next to the analog one and a digital clock next to the analog clock. -Seats are horrible. Not an ergonomic shape, mounted way too high so there' no head room. Too hard. -There's a bunch of buttons for things I never use and everything that I want a button for got moved to the touch screen so it's hard to use when driving. -Heated steering wheel and cooled seats are nice i guess since I've never had them before. -Headlights and Fogs are way better than base reflector BMW ones. -Handling is pretty meh, but I expected that. Overall, be glad you aren't like me, stuck with a Chrysler

Lol this is random and sort of off topic but my parents got the first gen X1 sdrive28i and I've gotta say I love the heck out of that car! Feels great driving it, steering is pretty spot on. I'm sure slamming it will give me that stiff steering feel that I have in my car haha. The n20 or n26 (not too sure what's in it? It's a 2015 California purchased car) in it feels amazing in the low end for sure. The thing is though is that I can't really comment on it compared to my 330i with 6mt, it's just too hard to compare an auto car to an mt. Really looking forward to getting one someday and sourcing an mt tranny to swap in.

Got my e90 back for like a week... It was great.. then the radio stopped working, sounds came out of the speakers even when the car was off, and it smelled like burning electronics.... Now i got a focus
