USB extension cable

Was wondering if anyone has experience with adding an extension cable to a coding cable. I want to use a shelf located about 6' away from my car.
Wondering if a 9' cable extension might cause signal degradation?

If I remember correctly USB cables are limited to 16' end to end, including extensions. Beyond that you are supposed to use something to recondition the signal.

That said, you could try it and before coding, just make sure that you have no problems what-so-ever reading out as many modules as possible.
