205,000km.
For the past 110,000km, I have run with a JBD @ 100%. I have some minor mods on the car. 99% of the mileage is highway. I drive my car HARD. Aside from minor things, the car has been great.

At 74K miles apparently not an issue for me as either, but I have not done a thing to the car, still 100% stock. I haven't filled the DEF in 25K miles and it's not complaining. Aside from that I've had a CBU cleaning, A/C belt and Antenna amplifier replaced under warranty. That's it. Car runs great!

Hey hows it going?...so you did end up buying a 335D huh?...glad you like it...I still think you should have bought my M Sport.... To be honest and having had both, I think a used Audi S4 is a much better car than the 335D in every way other than the gas mileage thing. |

I've owned my 335D for nearly 5 years, why would I want to buy yours? On a side note my brother owns an S4. Other than both being German, these are really 2 different types of cars. |

i have 2006 335d european e92 for 4 years. i am not even sure if i remember all the problems because there were so many, but here we go:
1.low power 3x due to loss of vacuum of red pipe from intercooler (diagnostics never showed fault, but it had no low rev power) 2.numerous tire slashes plus cracked almost all 4 wheels. this is maybe past owner's fault too 3.bad battery needed to replace 4.flywheel failure (big deal) 5.drive belt failure (big deal) 6.charger pipe (aluminium) cracked (mid deal) (nobody could find a fault of low power 6 months due to fault not showing on diagnostics again) 7. gearbox leaking then changed oil and now gearbox jerks, slips, etc. (big deal) 8. cracked and lost headlight washer cover (small deal) 9.i am not even mentioning small things such a burned angel lights or other inside lights and indicators... 10. i am sure i forgot something, because basically every other week i have some problem with the car..... i regret getting this car...i should have go for either 335i coupe petrol or something else....it sounds shit too and already looks old on the road Last edited by Martin80k; 04-23-2016 at 05:15 PM.. |

??? Looks like every other E90 out there, they must all look old. I agree it does sound like a diesel, but then it always has!
I just invested in some Bilstein B6 shocks and the car now rides like a BMW should. The firmer shocks were balanced out by using softer Driveguard runlflat tires. Keeping my fingers crossed to make at least 150K (mostly) trouble free miles as a gasoline car would. I have seen the SES light exactly 3 times in our 76K miles of ownership. (CBU, NOx Sensor, DEF tank level sensor-which cleared when I added DEF). That's less than all the previous gasoline cars we've owned the past 2 decades. And yes after being on the road almost 6 years I had to replace the battery too. That's normal maintenance, like oil changes. |

As an owner who has had the car from new with 65k I would say reliability is outstanding. My only codes were for emission issues covered under warranty. With my alphabet deletes/bpc stage 2 tune completed including SCR gutting I'm looking forward to many more trouble free miles. I've changed all fluids and filters ahead of schedule and stay away from rough surfaced roads. My fun comes in highway pulls leaving a lot of larger displacement cars in the dust. I think with the increasing number of cars with quality tunes we'll see many satisfied owners

It seems no one here can say their car has been low maintence.. What seems to differ is the opinion. If you're happy with the car and dealer or own service, you'll state the reliability is outstanding even with issues. Another owner faced with the same issues could have a different opinion.
My only generalization having owned many other cars and participate in the owners forums. Is that these cars have a lot of problem threads and has been a lot of expensive trouble for quite a few owners, and a silent majority is happy with the car. |

Has anybody actually had CONSEQUENCES from ignoring SES (or pouring her a bit of Howes/LiquiMoly/etc on next fillup, and calling it quits at that), when its without other more worrying warnings??
Ditto decreased power warning, if its the mild one and not fullblown limp mode??? I suspect the differences in impression depend MOST OF ALL on whether you take her to a dealer/mechanic as soon as she starts nagging, and whether or not you actually take everything they say seriously when you do (Im in the NO & NO camp) PS serp belt, ac belt, and EGR cooler hose *ARE* puny, failprone, and SHOULD be replaced on a higher-mileage vehicle... and if somebody tries to charge you multiple hours of labour for that, shake their hand and loudly thank em for the free headsup that theyre dishonest or incompetent |

I have a 2011 335d that I bought in 2014 with 19K miles. The factory warranty expired December 2015 (must have been one of the last ones sold). The car now has 55K miles. Since the warranty expired, it has been in the shop for diesel-related issues four times.
March - replace DEF tank, $4173 August - replace oxygen sensor, $785 September - replace one fuel injector, camshaft position sensor, and clean heads for carbon buildup, $3378. This would have been more but BMW took pity and discounted parts. October - another bad fuel injector. They took pity again and offered me a huge discount, so I replace the remaining five injectors. $875 (a bargain for what they did, but should not have been necessary). I kick myself for not purchasing the extended warranty they offered last year for about $3300. The thing is, I love driving this car so I'm putting up with it for now, but will dump it before the CBU comes back around at maybe 100K. |
