OP asked for opinions, not any technical thoughts. So, he's getting what he asked for and is salty about it?

On a sorta related note, whenever I get around to installing my single turbo setup on my 335, I've considered going to a single pipe out the back with a 328 bumper.

Would NA guys want to trade bumpers + my exhaust? Is that a thing?

PS - Equating exhaust choices with fake badges is silly.

wouldn't a 328i muffler be too small for a 335i? I'd think you'd want at least a 3" single pipe? 328i goes down to 2.5".

Correct. I wouldn't be using a 328 exhaust, it would be custom.

Trading bumpers is straightforward, I was more asking if NA guys buy or use 335 dual setups.

You wouldn't use the factory muffler, just the bumper. I mean you could but it would be a restriction. I guess it could be fun to keep the muffler and then just open up an electronic cut out when you get on it. All quiet and stealthy around town. Probably would still want to run a large pipe and then just connect it to the factory muffler. If it opened quick you could trigger it with a hobbs and never have to press any buttons.

If the NA guys do I have a set for sale with brand new tips.

That said - I personally prefer dual exhaust just from a symmetrical standpoint.

This is the reason I would do it. Symmetry, who cares what 335's came with?

Yes, very sad. I think the consensus is that there is no material performance to be gained from dual exhaust. It is purely a looks and sound issue. That is how we got to the social police as to what should or should not be done!

Why not a true dual like the 535,custom bend, stealth,no bumper change. A 3in may be alot nicer, that crossover looks like it hurts, lol

Do what you want. If someone gets upset, that's their own bullshit that they can deal with.

Actually, I only saw OP posted twice in this thread. Didn't see any saltiness on his part at all.

That's why I did it. Along with the fact that the only carbon diffuser available at the time was from Duke Dynamics and only offered a in dual style. Another thing, the 335 style actually has the cut outs more so "in" the diffuser where the 328 cut out for the exhaust is more "under the diffuser" but there are times where I find the single exit exhaust a little old school, like the E36 M3. I may sell my diffuser sometime and go back to that 328 style. We will see.

But I absolutely love my car. I guess I'm a 335 M3 poser. Don't care. I've made it unique from anything else on the road and that was my goal.

Man, this was a fun thread to read.... Hahaha

I felt like I was part of a game of Telephone and every post got further and further away from the OPs first post until everyone was arguing about badges!

Full 335i exhaust with PE mod on my 328i, and X pipe instead of resonator
No regrets, sounds a little different than regular performance exhaust on a 328i with lots of popping
