Tracking the D
Does anyone run the D on the track (not the 1/4 mile). I've taken it to Houston MSR twice now with about 20 minute run sessions. I haven't logged any oil temps or coolant temps but I don't believe the car has over heated.
I've done brake work (SS lines, vented rotors, hawk hps 5.0 pads, and high temp fluid) along with replacing the fluids (all). Anyone added bigger radiator, intercooler, oil coolers? |

I did a 2 day event at Road Atlanta and the car performed flawlessly. I didn't have a logger monitoring parameters, but at the time my car was completely stock.
I doubt many people would enjoy me tracking the D in front of them now. It would just be a smoke screen.

I've posted a few times about my experience tracking the D. Instructors and group-mates are always impressed with how well it does. Only issue I ever had was a regen lighting off mid-session. Power dropped very noticeably and I threw a check engine light for excessive EGT. You will notice very quickly if a regen starts because the car will be very sluggish out of corners. The best thing to do is to finish the session but drive as "normal" as possible to let the regen complete. Do not keep pushing the car with a regen in progress or you could do some real damage.

The car really needs nothing other than fresh brake fluid and an empty cockpit, and I mean get rid of the popsicle stick your nephew left under the seat. I still had half a tank of fuel left driving home after a track day at Summit Point -- amazing.

I completely agree. My stock D (with wheels and sticky tires) did great and surprised the shit out of most people in mustang 5.0 and Porsche caymans
And I can't wait to track after deletes. |
