Arrow Deeper Exhaust Tone ?? 08 BMW 328i

Just got a 2008 bmw 328i sedan and am looking to get a muffler installed that will give my car a deeper tone....not looking to get an entire system installed just a muffler and new tips. Ive seen a couple flow master and magna flow muffler that sound nice but don't know which ones will fit correctly in my vehicle, suggestions would be great, thanks. btw only looking to spend a couple hundred bucks on it

Here's my setup, although I made a huge mistake on the tips, hopefully able to get em changed here soon. But I got a resonator delete and 3 inch cherry bomb glasspack on my 330

I performed a resonator delete with a magnaflow muffler, I think the sound is deeper while still being really clean.

Which muffker and tips did you put on?! (Part numbers would help) and do you have a video?

I don't have the part number on the top of my head. There were no tips purchased, the tips came with the muffler.

I can text you videos if you need.

This is supposedly only compatible on vehicles w/out x-drive. I know members have gotten the hardware altered so it does fit. anyone know what specifically needs to be changed?

e90 or 325i pre-Lci models requires welding for installation. That's it... get your local muffer shop to take care of the install for $70 and that's it.

For those curious about ActiveAutowerks Performance Exhaust comparison with or without resonator delete. Here's some quick observations ive noticed.
After the Resonator was removed/deleted by my muffershop, I noticed.

Negatives: when resonator is removed
I lost the unique 2nd and 3rd gear kickback after the resonator delete!
Refined tone of the AAmuffler was lost.
Drone is increased by 15% but gradually levels off with more miles put into the car.
Your neighbor might not like it when you start/warmup the car at 5am before going to work.

Positives: when resonator is removed

+40% louder, less refined but more raw in aggressive nature so to speak.
+70% chances of gargling noises to occur when releasing throttle while on 2nd or 3rd gears.

Could you explain what "kickback" you're talking about? Im looking to do a resonator delete. The straight muffler delete isn't cutting it for me anymore

i feel the same. i have a muffler delete on my 330i and i want a more, but i was considering doing a secondary cat delete instead of resanator. idk which would have the better effect.

I was thinking resonator because i don't want it to be insanely loud plus it might lose a lot of back pressure. I just want it to be louder but not have to deal with any power loss.

Secondary cat delete will give you some power gain too, resonator delete won't give you any power and may increase raspiness.

Is there excessive droning with your set up? Also, did you just replace your resonator with the cherry bomb and keep secondary cats and muffler?

Hmm I'm gonna say that the drone that is there may be too much for some but for me I kind of like it and doesn't bother me. The tone from outside blends well with the drone. I still have oem secondary cats in place and I no longer have the stock muffler. I currently have a y pipe where the resonator used to be and the cherry bomb is where the stock muffler was at. If you remove the stock resonator you will add some drone and of course free up some silencing that it does on the exhaust note. I think the resonator was put there from the factory so that it keeps the exhaust acoustics in the cabin of the sedan to stay subtle. But every exhaust that's on the market removes his anyways. They just make the design chemistry in their mufflers to tone down excessive drone to their likings. Next time I hop in my car I'll pay attention to detail on the drone to see if it is excessive for the majority of people who drive our cars. I am going to redo my setup soon When I get my Msport rear. Gonna do 4 inch truck tips angled slightly with the glasspack possibly placed where the y pipe is currently at. I need to ask my exhaust shop on what will keep or raise the loudness of my exhaust note. I don't want it to get quieter lol

Eisemann and Meisterschaft are deep loud exhausts that sound refined. The muffler can be sold with out the midpipe. Problem is they are a tad more expensive than the performance exhaust.

All I did with my 328i was a muffler delete with some new Black Chrome Cyba tips and I absolutely love the sound of it! Not to mention how great the new tips looks! Not too loud, no drone, gurgle and pop when you let off the throttle, I can't say enough good things about it! And plus, if you're looking to spend only $200 it's a great option for you!

Thanks man, I was planning on throwing a cherry bomb on mine. What length is yours?

secondary cat delete

if you want a deeper note deleting your secondary cats is a good start. next, some sort of good axle back muffler will be good. no need for a catback because the stock exhaust piping for our cars is quite good.
