Yes, you'll need the DPF exhaust flange gasket. I forget the part number, I have a spare in my parts collection at home. Search on here for it, they are cheap, got mine off Amazon. Some actually use two sandwiched together for a tighter seal. |

18-30-7-793-678, This is the metal ring that goes between front of DPF and rear of low press turbo charger. I personally use the Vibrant 1458 gasket on back end of down pipe. I reused the forward metal ring several times with no issue. I just replaced it this last weekend as I thought 3 times (including original factory build) was enough.
One install tip that I learned a week ago is to put antiseaze along the inside groove of the v-band clamp. This is portion of clamp that actually engages the circular flanges of both the DP and the turbo and it often is a bear to get unstuck. It popped off much more easily this last time due to putting on antiseaze previous time. By the way, its not the cat (actually called DOC) that gets clogged up after regen is deactivated. It is the particulate filter in the back of the DPF that no longer is burning up the soot and thus would clog. The soot always goes through the DOC on its way to being trapped in the particulate filter. I completely agree with earlier poster to not start car until both coded DDE and downpipe are there together. |

I know, I slipped that in there to justify fabricating a nice flowing cat delete.. Thanks for the part number, and the tip.

Got the ECU back in the car last night, started it up, no lights, check that box off the list...
Hopefully I'll have the downpipe by tomorrow night. Currently driving my "racetruck" to work. 700 HP worth of 1994 Dodge ram cummins diesel that is the most undrivable power in the world... cant wait to get back in the bimmer. |

DPF delete, Check
what a new car it is with the tune and delete. I can honestly say I'm not qualified to hoon this car with traction control off, on back roads. Thanks to andrew at AA Rodriguez, he got the ECU turned around in a day, and rectified the lack of a downpipe, with a deal on a unobtanium piece. Super high quality, great fit. I need to tie up the two connectors that are not plugged in under the hood, did the baggie and tie wrap trick for the under side connectors. took me about 3 hours start-finish. hardest part is getting the engine mount out when the dpf is still in. FYI, i've yet to drill the wastegate hole larger, I plan to do that soon. Can't wait to get the cat out, it needs to be a tad louder for my liking. Up next is the trans flush, full intake/swirl valve/egr treatment with an oil separator, then install the new harmonic balancer. Intercooler and boost boots will be in the works sooner than later. Any one want to buy a low miles Upstream NOX sensor? I replaced this guy 1500 miles ago. 600$ at the time. Make an offer if anyone wants a good spare. |

A few have ported the wastegate, but I think the consensus is that this is not necessary. Mine was not ported when the DPF was removed.
