I got a ding :(
People can be such assholes.
Just found this today: That's bare metal you're seeing. That's right on the ridge of the driver side door. There does not appear to be a dent. So I guess I'll need some touch up paint. I'll need some gloss black. A VIN lookup shows my paint code to be: 668 - SCHWARZ 2 Do you folks have any advice on painting this so that it's not so visible? I'm assuming I should clean it with alcohol first. How many layers of touch up paint should I apply? I ordered this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/171891319024...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT It has a base coat and clear coat. I think this is a paint stick applicator (not brush) if I'm not mistaken. The kit comes with paint and a clear coat. I cleaned out the ding as best I could with a tiny bit of fine sand paper and then cleaned it out with alcohol. I then carefully applied a few layers of paint waiting about 30 minutes in between each layer. Then I finally applied a layer of clearcoat. The results look good enough so that you don't notice it w/o close inspection. People are just so inconsiderate today !!!! If I had a Ferrari, I would have a nervous breakdown ! |

If a small indentation remains, a paintless dent removal service might be able to pull the indentation out.
