I'm more impressed by the back than the front, I preferred the front of the old car.

What I'd like to know: Is this MCT a real double clutch transmission? Anybody know?

Best regards, south

Based on what is known about the technology I somehow doubt it as the 63amg engine puts out a sizeable amount of torque, more than the M-DCT box could handle.

You're probably right. It's said to have a new wet clutch instead of a converter.

I may be right but unlike most other manufacturers Mercedes did do a lot of the development work themselves and if there is any company capable of such a task it would be Mercedes.

Agreed that Merc will come out with a DCT transmission in the (near) future, but not yet as it seems. Mercedes indicated a DCT transmission becoming available for the C63 anytime...

looks good... i think the rear could use a straight line instead of that trapezoid diffuser thing... i guess i like the old Sl rear slightly more.

The AMG bumper actually suits the headlights. Call me crazy, but I actually like the SL63's front end. The non-AMG variants are still ugly imo, but this one actually works.

I'm still not crazy about the wacky diffuser or the whole lower bumper for that matter. There's a bit too much going on, and the diffuser doesn't really go with the taillights all that well. The lines are a mix of straight and curvy, not very consistent.

If I was to change anything besides my previous concerns, I'd put the sides on a visual diet. There needs to be some surface play to trim things down.

Very similar. The 997TT's tri-spokes are staggered sort of.
