XP-H Black Friday FMICs

In the market for a better FMIC. Extreme Power House currently has specials on two that im considering.

VRSF 5in Stepped FMIC - $407 (w/upgraded lower CP) down from $449

Active Autowerke Sport FMIC - $425 down from $699 (from what I see does not include lower CP upgrade)

What would you guys do? Ideally I wouldnt want to do any trimming on install. Will just do a pro MHD tune with it currently until I eventually go PS2.

Garage List
The VRSF is going to outperform the AA in this example due to the larger size and similar fin pack.

7" requires trimming of plastic piece behind the bumper. Stepped doesn't but isn't as effective with bigger hp applications.

I had to trim the plastic behind the bumper. You don't have to actually cut into your bumper though. Just the little plastic shroud with slats that funnel air into your FMIC, only because its wider than the stock. The 5'' should be a direct fit if that's something you're worried about.

it was my impression that the 7 inch isnt "necessary" unless your trying to push 500 hp. Feel like even with pump gas and PS2 that target would be hard to achieve with the N55. Correct me if im wrong.

A majority of people get the 7" VRSF FMIC. It performs better then the 5".

The Race 7'' is only necessary if you have done every single last engine upgrade to the point of top mount single. The norm 7'' is the go to for most people because its a 1 and done for almost every set up. It will carry you through your tuning days.
