BMW has its own bank. The BMW Card is issued by BMW Bank of North America. For what it's worth, the card is processed by First Data, which provides third-party payment card processing for many banks in the U.S. and abroad.

Touch ID

I would love to see BMW releases an iPhone app with Touch ID implemented. If I can use the Drive Now app to unlock the car using Touch ID and make the payment using Apple Pay at the same time, it would be extremely awesome.

lol I'm sure it's for comfort access. There is no button on the credit card for you to need to pull it out. So it has to be RF-ID

Edit:
Just actually read the article and saw that it's NFC so basically it's after you pay you can drive off. Which means u should be able to use Apple Pay as well.

t the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), BMW and MasterCard have jointly presented a contactless MasterCard credit card that can be used to hire, unlock and operate a BMW or MINI vehicle from the DriveNow carsharing fleet.
Has anyone here actually used a car from the "DriveNow carsharing fleet"?

We should get this card so that someday we might be able to open one of these cars without getting the key? If Hertz (who I use regularly) came out with something similar maybe I would care.

Just a card as an identifier doesn't sound secure enough for me.

I still think the User should enter a pin or some kind of password/retina scan, etc. to access or start the car.
How is it any worse than a key fob?
