Hey guys

I coded my e92 about 3-4 years ago last time and haven't touched lmk netbook since.
I now need to reset adaptations on my zf 6hp21, after replacing solenoids which I feel made no difference

I hooked up my netbook, connected to car as it showed the black dots for battery and ignition.
I go to e89> transmission > gs19 module
When I click it, it throws an error:
"Requested Control Unit Not Found, GS19/V.106......." Control Unit Found: GS1912.

Something like that
Any help on this error? Nothing should have changed on my computer so no idea.

Also want to add inread that some say it means I need to update my dates files. If so, I can't find the latest files or a reliable source to download from. I got one for I think mfire or something like that, but doesn't seem to download well. Gives errors half way through, etc

Do you have a JB4? If so, do you change it to Map 0 prior the coding attempt?

Your script is looking for GS19/V.106 but found GS1912.

You need a different script

The INPA script GS19.IPO is telling you that it performed a module variant check and your EGS module is not a supported variant. It found a GS19.12 TCU (GM) as opposed to the GS19.11 TCU (ZF) that the script supports.

The error implies that you do not have a ZF 6HP21 transmission, but rather a GM 6L45 transmission...

Is that in fact the error message that was displayed?

INPA scripts are not part of the SP daten files. Updating your daten files will have no effect.

Okay, sounds good. If you have a working INPA installation, I suggest displaying all installed modules...see question 5. of my FAQ:

If the EGS SGBD is GS19[A-D], the TCU is a ZF. If the SGBD is GS1912, the TCU is a GM (example below):

Grab a copy of rheingold, you won't need script files or any of that jazz, if your on bimmerfest, pm user Reclaimer to get your the link to it. Your Inpa KDCAN will work with it. Also, install is a breeze.

Thanks, I have both. INPA and ISTA/D are intended for different use cases and audiences. One does not eliminate the need for the other.

INPA is for engineers and ISTA/D is for dummies...

I've yet to find a function Inpa can do that Rheingold can't. The only difference is, certain task are much faster in Inpa due to the simplicity of the program.

Clearing codes & running certain actuations is a breeze with Inpa because there's essentially no loading or processing time.

But for trouble shooting & diagnosing purposes, rheingold wins hands down.
