I actually dyno'd the prototype CAI together with a Rev Motoring silicon TB hose, and was surprised to see measurable gains in power:

+ 15 hp and 16 ft/lbs for $80

I was weak. After coping with malfunctions for many months, I'm sort of letting my hair down the past couple of weeks. Seems the mounts begin leaking / failing around 60k, so I'm treating these as preventative.

Hopefully the bad part is behind you, and you can start actually enjoying the car again. I just fixed my bad O2 sensor, made an aluminum lip/skidplate to fix my broken undertray, and I have a new dmtl pump on order. It's no fun being worried about the car all the time instead of just having fun with it.

Close.

Decided to give the 034 Motorsports units an audition. They are similar to OE design, with lower compliance from mildly stiffer rubber durometer (I think OE is 45 and these are 55). More importantly, the 034 mounts are solid, rather than the OE version (including the 335is version) with damper fluid filled void to absorb vibrations. I wasn't considering solid mounts because dual-use.

I did this as a preventative measure, and because I'm of the opinion that the solid bushings will control the mass of the motor better on track.

Sadly, there are no known aftermarket, low-compliance transfer case mounts, as there are for RWD platforms. I wanted to reduce compliance at the transmission, too, so bought a new stock transfer case mount, and plan to fill the large void with polyurethane.

Glad to hear that your ride is fun again! Yep, it's not fun at all worrying. My project queue is a bit "excessive" now as a result of being on the beach so long. Bty, I saw Sean again last week to finally pick up the brakes. Your name came up again. We need to get a beer sometime.

Ya I got the mishimoto TB hose on sale over black Friday because it seems rev is no longer making theirs. I haven't heard good things about fitment but it's really the only option.

They had been out of stock for so long I figured they stopped making them or had only done a single production run. Might return the Mishimoto one and get this.
