Exhaust murmer
2008 335 sedan nonsport.......Going to see if there is any idea on this. I get the check engine light every now and then. The mechanic says it is showing lean fuel or not enough air. They swapped out the intake tube. Still get the light. I've noticed that when I let off the exhaust the back pressure seems to cause something in the exhaust to rattle slightly then go away. Could anyone possibly chime in on this?

That is what I have tied it down to. I am not the original owner nor did I buy it CPO. I have no idea if they were ever replaced. I have a call in to a dealer to see if this is still covered by the recall. I am also looking at trying to find 1)used turbos with the problem corrected 2)new ones. Does anyone know if the current rattle will cause detrimental affects long term without getting fixed? Otherwise, it is annoying as hell when you let off the gas.

It's probably the little flappy valve in the exhaust.

Unplug the acutator on the driver rear of the car in the trunk area. (Golf Tee Mod) That disables the driver side exhuast flap. You can rule out the flap from the issue by trying this.
