Pre LCI Halogen to LCi Xenon

Hi Everyone.

I have purchased a set of lci adaptive xenons. i will be retrofitting these to my 2006 bmw m sport. i need some help please.

I have a dcan cable and the necessary hardware for the coding. i have done some research on this forum and the 1 addicts forum and have found the following information.

in order for the xenon's to work i need to tap or splice the following wires.

tap pin 5 to pin 6 for xenon low beams (will this also work the bi xenon shutter?)
tap pin 1 to pin 7 for the 3 side led's to come on with the angel eyes.

The pins on the headlight connector are labelled, so i was thinking of doing the wiring modifications using wire taps (so they're reversible) on the plug that comes from the car, by checking which wires connects to which pin.

Now my question, i have seen there were some developments where the wiring could be done internal on the headlight. But on researching, the colour of the wires weren't clear to me as most were talking about pre lci xenon's.

I have some pics of the wiring in my headlights

Finally, can someone tell me if this blue wire with the plug at the end (circled) should be unplugged like this

Thank you so much if you can help.

Are you doing this the factory way?

Have you installed FRM2 / FRM3 AHL or MAX BROSE? I assume you have FRM1?

Auto Levelling sensors installed and already wired?

Need to know the above before advising on pinouts

Hi, Thank you for your reply. I have FRM1. the auto levelling sensors are installed in the headlight but i do not have any idea on what i need to do to get them to work. i have got as far as trying to get the lights to work and have done some light research on coding.

Hi, ive just done a quick search. looks like i'm going to take the option of disabling auto leveling via coding.

Ok, I've never heard of anyone doing this with FRM1 halogen footwell module. You need an FRM which supports AHL. This leaves you with FRM3 AHL or MAX BROSE versions.

Thanks for taking your time to reply, i really appreciate it. i was expecting an answer which would have educated me on how to wire the headlight internally, without having to splice the cars harness.

The ones I've worked out so far are.

Tapping the red wire that goes to the H8 connector in position A to the led indicator plug positive terminal. which makes the contact between pin 1 and pin 7 for the 3 side marker leds to be powered on with the AE's.

im also aware in order to get the xenons to work, i need to add a ground somewhere and tap the halogen high beam wire to the bi xenon shutter, this is what i'm unsure of and required more help on.

apologies if my question was unclear.

I wouldn't be able to advise you re internal modification. I've only ever done factory headlamp Retrofit with correct wiring to FRM. Good luck with it though
