LA Dyno "Day"
OK, here's the deal folks.
To get the dyno to open on a Saturday and book it for the whole day, we need a minimum of 20 cars and it's going to cost $85-90 per car for 3 pulls with only a minute or two cool down between pulls. It cost's $1800 to get the dyno for a full day on Saturday. They can give us a bit of a break to rent if for the full day on a weekday. So if we booked it for the full day on say a Friday, and got the same 20 cars, it would cost $75-80 per car. The cheapest way to go is to get 4-5 cars to go at a time, but on different days, but not on a Saturday. Meaning, if the dyno is available on a Tuesday morning, a Wednesday morning, and a Friday morning, we could get 4-5 guys to go on each of those mornings. That rate would be $60-65 each. So the question is which do you guys want to do? If you vote for a Saturday and you are all willing to pay the extra, we NEED to have the full 20 people show up. The $1800 would be coming out of (more than likely) MY pocket and then I'd have to collect from each of you. That personally makes me a bit nervous because I KNOW that there will be flakes and then I get screwed!! So, this is the deal. Post here if you want to dyno your car in say the week of February 4th-8th. And if so, which of those days would work best for you. I will try to schedule everybody in the morning (8:30-12 noon) so hopefully all our temperatures outside will be the same and the weather will be similiar all week for the closest comparos we can get. Start list in thread below: |

BTW, I'd like to get an appropriate higher velocity fan for the dyno shop.
Many/most dyno places uses at least 1 (often 2-3) fans like this: http://www.pjpmarket**********/servle...=4&zmap=299020 on their dynos. I will be willing to order and pay for one, if you 20 people are willing to pitch in $5-10 bucks I'll "donate" it to the shop for future use. This fan will give us closer to the real amount of air (but still quite a bit less) into the intake and intercooler that we'd see on the road doing a 4th gear WOT run. These fans are needed to get more appropriate levels of air into the intake our cars need (with the mods and power our cars have) to get more realistic and appropriate dyno results. |

Cool Dan.
To be honest, I'm surprised that in a nearly 24 hour period nobody else has seen this thread or add themself to the list. Considering the amount of posts and PM's I get regarding wanting to dyno test?? Well, if we only get 4-5 people then we can do another "mini" dyno day. |

if you guys can hang on for a week or two we will organize a dyno day for a Saturday for you and at more reasonable terms. Also btw we have three fans two of which are 1700 bux each super high velocity dynojet factory fans. Thethird fan we use to evacuate the exhaust gasses.

I'm in no hurry to dyno again. This GTG was more for the handful of other guys who have PM'd me asking me if I could organize a Dyno Day. I haven't really done anything more to my car since the last time I dynoed (well except move up my user torque settings a bit). Have you dynoed any 335i's at your place yet? If so, how'd they do (stock and also with mods)? Could you give us an idea of price for a Saturday group at 3 pulls each. |

Hi guys, what we'd like to do is this. As our introduction of our dyno to the crowd, we're willing to work it a few different ways.
1. FULL day on Saturday for $1200.00 and we will run as many car as possible, no min. and no max. each car 3 pulls and A/F readings. If we get 20 cars, that will only be $60.00 each!! 2. 5-10 cars (5 car minimum) $100.00 each 3. 10-15 cars (10 car minimum) $80.00 each 4. 15-20 cars (15 car minimum) $75.00 each A few things I can assure you guys of. 1. Our shop is clean and neat, painted floors. 2. Our Dynojet, is preaty new and always calibrated for accuracy. 3. Friendly staff, everyone has a great time here. 4. Eurotuner magazine held the Eurotuner GP here, and European Car magazine has shot here and tested here, as well as IPD does all their R&D on our dyno, as well as many other companies who need accuracy and a clean environment. 5. We're enthusiasts!! and BMW lovers (I personally am on my 4th BMW) 6. We have 3 special high velocity fans to ensure proper airflow, we've spent a LOT of money on these, but they are a MUST. 7. We have lots of access and knowledge, and willing to help and share with the community. 8. You guys can come see my E92 LOL.! Let me know guys!! 714-447-1697 ext 223 if you want to talk. |

But after a couple days of this thread, we have 3 people. I guess if I PM'd some guys they might respond. The problem for me is Fullerton is quite a ways away from me, but we'll see. |

i agree it's pretty far for me too. I'd still go though if enough people were down.

I am willing to go on a weekend since Fullerton is really far away. What dates are you looking at? Can I have a few minutes between pulls?

Sure, we're willing to do a Saturday so it will make things easier on everyone. Cool down?? on an E90/92/93 it is a MUST!! Heatsoak on the intercooler is a killer.
