Crackle during upshift change - DCT ... Is it possible?
Hello all,
I often hear the AMG45's, Golf GTI's, etc. getting around with their exhaust crackles/anti-lag on gear up-changes and I must admit, I do like hearing them. I was wondering if this is possible on our N55 DCT cars? Would love to hear it on one of our cars. Is it simply software coding? Or do those cars have hardware that allows it? Note, I know we have MHD or PPK for the crackle/pops, but it only occurs on downshifts. I'm looking for it on the upshifts. Cheers |

^this. Half throttle and changing up at around 3k is how I can hear the "dct shift sound" the loudest. At full throttle the engine noise is too loud to really hear exhaust pops etc.
