When to switch to winter rubber in DFW?
For those of you who DD you cars in the DFW metroplex (or Texas in general) when do you usually pull of the summer tires?
When you do pull them off do you run dedicated winter tires or get away with all seasons instead?

From an Austin perspective, many run summers all year since we get maybe one major ice day a year. My E90 has the OEM all seasons it had on it when I bought it and it does just fine. Dallas might get a bit colder but I can't imagine all seasons would get you into much trouble

no one runs winter tires here in Dallas. We had 0 snowfall last year. I'm from the Northeast where I had 2 sets of wheels/tires but here in Texas you're fine. just get all season tires.

I just run all seasons for daily driving duties. I don't hit the limits of high performance all seasons on the street.
I also have an SUV for when it snows. |

The SUV is a 1999 two-door Tahoe I've owned since 2001. 1999 was the last year the two-door was made; it get's driven at least once a week. I also use it for tailgating. But it is my garage queen.

In NY I usually put snows on before Thanksgiving, but this year I did right after, on 11/29, and it has only snowed once so far, and it melted shortly after. I have not driven in the snow yet.
