I enjoyed it and the battle was incredible but felt the characters were a bit wooden and lacked chemistry.....took itself all a bit too seriously and not many lighter moments at all.....

The special effects are incredible in 3d and even better than the force awakens oven though we are only 12 months on from that film

It was a re-make of The Dirty Dozen. The most likeable character for me was the robot and it just went nowhere at all for the first 90 minutes......maybe I need to see it again but I preferred The Force Awakens which was much more traditional "Star Wars" for me with characters being the centre of the story.

You know you're not engaged when you find yourself cheering on Vader....

Will see passenger and hoping it does not disappoint
Se7en was a masterpiece. Loved that movie. I agree happy endings where everyone wins can become pretty stale.

Let's be honest it going to be hard to appease everyone and in the end Disney is pumping movies out for profit playing on people emotional attachment to the original story

Theres abasic formula for every star wars movie. Im sure Lucas included that in his deal selling it as well as Disney im sure doesn't want to mess with success. As long as they leftthe cutesie ewoks, jar jars, and burping frogs home I'll be happy.

Just got back. Not bad. Didn't have any more "come on man" moments than Force awakens, the battles were fantastic both on Land, Air and Space. Really dark. I have very few complaints.

Loved it. Can't wait to watch it again.

I loved the tone, the settings, and all the tie ins. Battle scenes managed to be epic without being silly like in E1-3.

So glad Lucas sold the rights to SW.

Just saw it. First 40 minutes were slow, even fell asleep for literally 5 seconds lol but picked up afterwards. My favorite part was the final 15 minutes.

I just got back from seeing it. Actually, a bit disappointed. The battle scenes were great and the story was entertaining. As a stand alone movie it was awesome. But....and this is from a huge Star Wars fan as I've said, the soul of Star Wars was missing.

Right from the start the opening did not have the scrolling words and then the music and typical opening--this element is missing--the original music was not there. This lets you know you at a Star Wars movie. The music from John Williams of Star Wars is unique and prevalent in all the movies. And I noticed they would run a few bars of the theme song in the movie with a change at the end.

I never felt like there was a character that stood out...the best to me was the empire droid. There was just depth missing in characters showing strength and humor and how they relate to each other.

The entrance of Vader was fantastic, however, the voice was off and did not sound as powerful as before. It's like the greatest villain of all time was there but was not there. I don't know what it was but his dominating power did not come across to me. Did like the light saber show at the end.

It was pretty cool seeing General Tarkon and Leah at the end.

All in all, great effects and loved seeing the Imperial Walkers, X-wings, Y-wings and battles, but Star Wars is much, much more for me. I actually liked The Force Awakens more and do feel let down as I think this one will only be chalked up as another really good sci-fi action movie.

I just saw it last night and while I liked it, I liked force awakens a lot more. The main characters IMO were meh, I actually cared for the blind guy and his buddy more than I did the main characters. Wish there was more of Forest Whitakers character.

The start was super slow and kinda boring and they didn't even have any light saber fights other than the end for the 15sec vader destroyed everyone. I also didn't care for some of the cg especially the tarkin character just totally took me out of it.

I saw it in 3D/IMAX theatre and thought it was entertaining and well done

Oddly the CGI renderings of Leia and co I thought were poorly done....lifeless

Looking forward to the sequal to TFA

I was pretty disappointed in it.. I thought the first half of the movie was chaotic, poorly edited, and frustratingly boring with bad acting all around. It felt like a low budget fan tribute.

The second half redeemed the movie for me, and made it a good watch overall. The second half was really good. However, I liked TFA much better.

I was really disappointed in how inconsistent it was, but it was worth watching because of the second half.
